London Tech Week 2019 has kicked off and is now in full swing. Featuring five days of cutting-edge discussion around technology, AI and our rapidly accelerating futures, it is a chance to find out how all of this will impact on businesses. F.Initiatives is excited to be attending.

The event will showcase top speakers from the worlds of tech, entertainment and industry, uniting them all in a world-class hub of innovation. Lasting until 14th June 2019 and partnering with IBM and Microsoft, attendees can glean the latest key insights from influential thought leaders around the globe.

It couldn’t have come at a better time. Because, ready or not, we are now in the era of the fourth industrial revolution, meaning that how we live and work is going to be totally transformed over the coming decades. That’s why Tech Week’s speakers, exhibitors and 15,000 attendees will gather to explore the positive consequences of collaborative innovation during this era.

Alongside celebrities such as Ricky Gervais, some of the planet’s most prominent brands will also get to have their say. These include Twitter, the world’s third largest social network; Sony, which has branched out from TVs and phones to create a cybernetic dog; and WIRED magazine, a tech conversation leader since 1993.

Here is a quick overview of what will be taking place:

The event will launch with a dinner and networking event. This will include a discussion on how to address the current digital skills shortage talent gap — in the UK and worldwide — through the education system.

Blockchain for Business Summit (12th-13th June)

Future of Work Summit (13th June)

The nature of the workplace is changing — so how can leaders and strategists navigate this? This event will include discussions on meeting millennial expectations, adapting the culture of the workplace and managing change. Speakers will discuss how businesses can move with the times and be more inclusive, while still retaining their core corporate values.

Bringing together senior figures from entertainment and tech, this summit will explore how to bridge the gap between these two industries. Ricky Gervais and Sharon Horgan will deliver keynote speeches, plus leading experts from ITV, Sky, NBC Universal and Hopster will also have their say.

Tech Night Party with WeWork (13th June)

Tech Week’s official party will include drinks, music and speakers from across the globe. It will be a chance to mix and mingle with other delegates, speakers and sponsors; swap and share expertise, and have plenty of fun in the process.

WIRED Pulse: AI at the Barbican (15th June)

Billing itself as a ‘conversation starter’ and taking place on the final day of Tech Week, this event will be exploring the potential impact of AI on humanity and society. It will include high-level talks, a Test Lab with artificial intelligence demos and even a musical performance. The wider implications of machine learning — including ethics, creativity and health — will also be discussed.
